Course Description: A comprehensive study of the major regions of the world, including the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Middle East, and Oceana. Physical and Human Geography is explored with a focus on the five themes of Geography: movement, regions, location, place, human environment/interaction.
Objectives/Goals/Targets:
- Students will develop a personal geographic framework, or "mental map," and understand the uses of maps and other geo-graphics.
- Students will develop a knowledge of the ways humans modify and respond to the natural environment.
- Students will develop an understanding of the diversity of human culture and the unique nature of places.
- Students will develop an understanding of the character and use of regions and the connections between and among them.
Materials and Resources: Available online through Schoology. Scope and sequence will follow the Delaware recommended model lessons for 6th grade and utilize the Savvas My World Interactive World Geography materials.
